About the gallery

Why this room exists.

It started on a drive near Spokane with Stephanie. A technology podcast was on — people talking about OpenAI, about how it could take information and make images, little square images. I always wanted to be an artist. I always wanted to have a gallery. So I took the tools and just started creating: image after image. I put them on my Square sales site. I uploaded them to my Drive. And when Google's ImageFX came along, I created so many more — practicing, learning, just doing it.

Then came the music. I talked to the AI about parts of my life, and it turned those stories into songs — two hundred of them. The lyrics mean a great deal to me. I experimented: Japanese country music, other country and language combinations, a whole album. I published the experiment on the Tygart Media website under Music. And all the while I kept saving footage — drone flights, the salmon run, championship golf, years of phone video — because I believed this day would eventually come.

Then one Sunday afternoon, sitting in a nice chair, going through it all — the songs, the images, the footage — I realized what I was doing. Gathering the pieces of a life. Understanding meanings. Getting clarity. This is what I thought heaven was going to be like: you sit down, you're enjoying yourself, and you go through your life.

This gallery is that room. It's for me — a life shown back to me in all kinds of artistic ways. Music videos from the songs and the footage. Mason County in frames. Two years of AI art on the walls. Stories where words do the work instead.

As I said the day it began: I was waiting for you and for this day to come.
